Project management involves managing three sources of risk – technical, schedule, and cost. These risks are increased when a project involves overseas work.

TMC has managed complex projects both at home and abroad, applying best practices to achieve repeated success. Our senior managers have all been trained and certified as Project Management Professionals by the internationally-renowned Project Management Institute.

In some circumstances, where a client wishes to retain the responsibility for overseas project management, TMC offers the use of its Project Associates – foreign national employees, trained to exacting standards, who take responsibility for overseeing the completion of major project tasks in remote locations. Our Project Associates act as “honest brokers” for our clients, providing an extension of management controls where circumstances make a prolonged stay by expatriate managers impossible or impractical.

  Our embedded processes include the following steps:

Clearly define the project scope.

Develop a comprehensive project implementation plan and schedule, identifying all tasks required for success, with provision for client review points.

Prepare a full and detailed cost estimate for implementation, using both project task and standard expense categories.

Procure necessary services, equipment and materials.

Manage execution on a daily basis, identifying and addressing fast-breaking issues that could lead to problems; track project costs on a weekly basis, measuring planned vs. actual expenditures.

Report project status in a timely and meaningful way.

Document project completion.
